Using a Paint Extension Pole

Ensure the paint roller has equally distributed paint saturating the roller. If you are using an extension pole, less paint enables the pole become less top-heavy. Proper technique simplifies painting. You'll get less drips and superior results if you fill the paint roller lightly. To prevent an uneven layer, never dry roll with your painting tools.

Begin your paint job among the lowest point on the surface and work towards the ceiling. This technique makes it simpler to use the extension pole and permits minimum length changes. The flexibility of painting using the pole at a range of extensions will make any job easier.

Holding the pole correctly will make the entire process simpler. Grab the midsection extension when carrying a completely extended pole. Grasp it close to the final section where the midsection portion connects to the lower part of the pole. This technique creates less strain on the upper extensions and provides optimum delivery. To get the best control options, use both hands while raising and lowering the extension.

When you find yourself loading the roller with paint, don’t press too much. Merely guide the roller with care without pressing too hard and invite the tool to do the work

When you load the extension paint roller, hold the final portion close to the middle section and the roller near the farthest lower portion you can handle. This system enables you to manifest extension support during the paint loading process.

For the simplest access, grasp the pole vertically when using the optimum extension until it's close to the surface you'll be painting. Hold close to the center bottom area of the pole as close as you can to the top of each segment for a balanced application. Stand next to the wall and softly lean the pole to the wall area to begin painting.

Once the roller makes contact with the wall, you can step back and adjust your grip for more comfortable painting. For maximum control, hold the pole towards the bottom and the center as you paint. Improperly using the extension causes the pole to get too bottom or top-heavy and can lead to an irregular finish.

Securing and loosening the chuck or the collet locking mechanism is straightforward. Conveniently hold the pole underneath the collet and lock or unlock the extension segment you want to slide. Adjust the chuck till the sliding pole stops moving. Try to slide the pole post chuck tightening to see if it will hold. You can damage the pole if you over-tighten the chuck so adjust diligently.

Keep your extension pole pure from paint debris accumulating inside of the slide. Wash any paint off the extension while you work so that it doesn’t get hard or dry. Use a moist rag for latex paint clean up or a thinner rag nearby for oil-based products. Ensure the chuck and pole and collet are dry from thinner and water ahead of adjusting. For simple storage, collapse the extension to its smallest size. For preferred results with the extension pole, use standard-sized paint handle rollers. A long-handled paint roller is not recommended for use with the extension pole.

Purchasing an extension pole is a worthy purchase. You can use it for decades and various projects. It's the most secure way to accurately paint vaulted ceilings and walls. It's going to last for many years if you take good care with cleaning and storing after use. Refrain from needing to carry and climb a ladder by selecting the telescoping extension instead. This painting invention has completely changed the industry.

Get creative with your extension pole and employ it for dusting hard-to-reach locations including ceiling fans, window frames and ledges and crown molding! Store your extension rod in a place that's close allowing you to have easy access for your painting and cleaning projects.
